Protection - the ancient rule

Royal protection was something of an enigma since the ancient times. The commanders faced numerous hurdles so as to coordinate and arrange things to protect the ruler.

Often if they failed to handle things smoothly , even decapitation  could happen. Yet they did their duty considering the respectibility of their profession and the safety of the country and people.

They worked day and night and were attributed to possess truly altruistic nature in their soul and spirit.

Ancient warriors were not only fierce , but dedicated and focused because of their rigorous training.

They had sword fight , chariot race and handling other weapons and animals like elephants and horses as their part and parcel of life.

Their physique was unmatchable and were often praised with terms like Mahabali inorder to boost their morale and confidence so as to protect the nation.

India never witnessed a shortfall for victorious spirits in war , protection was the prime aim of every warrior once he swears in the royal palace.

They were also brought up in the gurukula system and were prideful in positive manner about their royal upbringing.

The supreme royal commander would teach them battle tactics and they would surrender their unhealthy habits then and there itself before they entered the stage of armed combat.

Handling weapons was assigned to them as per their capability and body strength.

One who has the mighty power and irresistible will was given the task to guard the royal people.

Fierce courage , determination and knowledge in military tactics were tested from time to time.

No one could escape from their duties at that time. Being off from duty literally meant  inviting threat to the nation. Camps were designed so as to guide the warriors about every difficult terrain and help them conquer more miles of service with utmost confidence.

They had a guru also accompanying them for moral support and offering protections of mantras and rituals .

Protection needs to be pure and sincere , any slight delay could even harm the rulers and the country men.

Vigilance was their weapon and focus the ultimate strength.
